My little wedding blog

I love blogging

I love blogging. My little wedding blog is just a hobby for me but it’s important for me to stay on top of things because blogging has allowed me to connect with some really amazing people. And not just wedding people! I have connected with some really awesome businesses and some great people from all over the world. I also haven’t had an easy blogging journey. (You can read more about that here) Blogging is my hobby, a passion, a journal, and a way for me to get my creativity juices out. But just like any hobby, you should set some “rules” or “guidelines” for yourself. (Just like sports!) Here are 3 tips to making blogging easier. We want to keep this fun and not something to get yourself frustrated!

  • Tip #1: Stay Organized: I use google calendar to schedule all of my blog posts. I also color code my calendar. I include the photographer’s name, the couple’s name, and what type of post it is. (i.e, Styled Shoot? Real wedding? Engagement?) I also have different colors for inspirational pieces, guests posts, vendor features, or opinion pieces. The key is repetition. Get in the habit of color coding and using the same codes for posts. Use the same color code to mark your emails. I promise, it’ll make your life easier.
  • Tip #2: Gmail: I am nothing without email. I obsessed with organizing my inbox. I also have folders and color code all emails. Is this gossip? A submission? I also have labels for “to do” and “waiting”. I have my own system. It’s important to create your own system that works for you and to stick with it!
  •  Tip #3: Google Drive or Dropbox: I hate paper. I hate clutter and I have having useless things around. I have one notebook and I use both google drive and dropbox. I have these two apps on my laptop, iPhone, and iPad. Since I have so many devices, I need to be able to access my photos, posts, and all related files asap and from any device I am using. I am not very patient and I need reliable tools!

I happen to be both a google and apple fan. I always need help staying on track and I really don’t have time to learn complicated programs. Simple and fast color coded organization is the key for me!
